Our new photovoltaic installation is up and running!
We are powering the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, Polish Academy of Sciences, and the Institute of Chemical Engineering, Polish Academy of Sciences, with green energy thanks to photovoltaic panels and an energy storage system.
This investment is the result of a project conducted by the Institute of Chemical Engineering in collaboration with its partner, the Institute of Theoretical and Applied Informatics, under the regional program European Funds for Silesia 2021-2027, priority FESL 10 European Funds for Transformation, action FESL 10.06 Development of Distributed Energy Based on Renewable Energy Sources.
The contractor for the project was Elmeco Technologie Sp. z o.o. from Wrocław, which won the tender for the design, delivery, and installation of the photovoltaic system and energy storage. Installation work began in March and was completed in April of this year.
As part of the project, photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 44.59 kWp were installed on the roof of the main building, while energy storage systems with a total usable capacity of 45 kWh were installed within the building.
This investment helps reduce emissions of not only CO₂ but also other harmful pollutants that are detrimental to the environment and human health, such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter. Each year, tens of kilograms of these harmful substances are prevented from entering the atmosphere. These are tangible actions that contribute to a healthier environment and a better quality of life for the community.
To date, our installation has prevented the emission of 9,73 tons of CO2. This is our contribution to the fight against climate change.
